  • KW Library of Things is a community-driven tool library that allows members to borrow tools, equipment, and gear for home projects, gardening, repairs, outdoor adventures, and more. We’re here to make borrowing easy, reduce waste, and empower creativity while fostering sustainability and sharing in Waterloo Region.

  • Once you’re a member, you can browse our inventory online through MyTurn and reserve the tools you need. Pick them up at our location during operating hours, and when you’re done, return them so the next member can use them.

  • Accidents happen, and we understand! We are okay with normal wear and tear. If a tool is beyond that, we have a fair repair policy in place. Please let us know as soon as possible, and we’ll work with you to find a solution that minimizes stress while keeping our tools in great shape for everyone.

  • While we continue to pause on late fees, it is very important to reach out to us via email at kwlot@eafwr.on.ca if you are not returning a tool on time since we may have another member waiting to borrow the tool.

If a tool is not returned within a month, it will be considered lost and we will charge your credit card on file for the replacement cost.

  • For Base members, certain tools that require additional consumable items or incur significant wear-and-tear are charged a one-time fee. Plus and Premium members have that fee waived.

  • We always need volunteers!

Check out our volunteer page for current openings.

  • Please visit our donation page to see what items are currently in need!

  • Financial donations are offered a tax receipt through Extend-a-Family Waterloo Region.
