Gift-Making Social
Doesn’t the holiday season already have enough stuff? We think so!
Join us on Thursday, November 26 from 6 to 9 pm for a cozy evening of sustainable gift-making, using some of our favourite craft tools at the KW Library of Things.
Rotate through the craft stations of your choice*, including:
Linocut printmaking with recycled paper and fabric goods
Button making using old magazines
Sewing small pouches from upcycled fabric
Darning loom patch-weaving on bring-your-own garment
Zine-making with junk mail, old books, and paper scraps
*A 3-hour craft hang may not permit time for all crafts, so come with two or three in mind!
No prior experience or expertise required! We will have a friendly volunteer on standby at each station to support your crafts of choice.
We will provide the tools and supplies, and also invite you to bring:
• Misprinted print-outs and blank-backed sheets from school or work
• Paper grocery bags
• Junk mail, old catalogues, and discarded envelopes
• Vintage book pages or magazines
• "Franken papers" from glued-together paper scraps
• Pre-loved fabric, including t-shirts and tote bags
• One or two garments to repair
Snacks and drinks will be provided in a cozy low-to-medium sensory environment to:
• Buy less and craft more
• Learn a new skill
• Spend a cozy evening making sustainable crafts - and maybe new friends!
Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs and/or if there are any ways we can support you in having a positive craft hang.
Pre-registration required. Limited space available.
$10 for Non-Members (select below)
$5 for KWLOT Members (select below)
